Few sports are as well known to the general public as running. As part of a general fitness regime, running is one of the most commonly recommended activities, not only because running is such an effective way to lose weight, but also for the many benefits it provides to the heart and lungs, as well as preventing the muscle and bone loss that occurs naturally as part of the aging process. Running is probably the easiest and cheapest way to get fit because all the sport needs is a good pair of shoes and a little determination, and it can be practiced anywhere, anytime, regardless of weather conditions. All of this has made the runner or jogger a familiar sight in cities and beaches around the world.
